I have to agree with a comment on a previous story that questioned the need to include some graphic details when you post about certain criminal cases. We all know what rape/sodomy is and it is horrific. I wish that is all I would have read. After reading the specific details I am physically sick. I didn't like it when you provided the details about that teacher the other day and I hoped you would listen to the reader who requested you leave the graphic details out of your blog. I was unprepared to read what I just did and very disturbed . I don't think I will be reading anything else you post.

I believe that the blogger copied and pasted the details of the court document. I would agree that it is a bit too much. If I were her family member, I would not want to see that content shared...

It's not as if he wrote it; he just reposts the source documents. I agree about having been genuinely disturbed by some of those details, but I don't blame Turner for it.

If I have a sense that something is going to be disturbing, I avoid reading it at this point. At the same time, I feel that it's important that source documents are out there and easily accessible, even if that means republishing them.

I believe information is beneficial, even disturbing information. Sometimes it's important to know - like how in Vietnam they used to show death on the news, I think it's important to see what that really means. It should be disturbing. The behavior of this coach should make us uneasy, as he did a horrible horrible thing to another human being. Let us not forget that justice will be deserved.

I am old enough to remember when polite people didn't talk about rape and child abuse. Everyone seemed to be happy that the facts were ignored, particularly the rapists and molesters who went on to victimize more victims.

Frequently these crimes were not investigated, seldom prosecuted; usually it was a form of catch and release rape roulette. Remember when it was usually thought to be the victim's fault for enticing the perpetrator, or dressing inappropriately? Yes, please, let's not hide the graphic details like we used to.
