Reader: Mr. Turner, you have hurt our community and you have sold your soul

And then there's this one:

Dear Mr. Turner…it would be awesome if you would spend your time doing something besides attempting to injure others. You are clearly one of those people who just "likes to watch the world burn." And that for YOU and everyone whom your life touches is unfortunate. It's been said that those who only attempt to destroy others do so because they have been so destroyed that it's all they can do. I believe that is the case with your sad blog that seeks to not just point out "news," but inflame mistruths into contentious rumors that create division and confusion in our already traumatized community.

Perhaps one day you'll be able to use your literary talent for good, rather than the destruction of others. That would be a fantastic day for Joplin. Meanwhile, I hope those who follow you and promote your destructive work can sleep at night knowing how much they've enabled you in hurting our community. True leaders don't seek to destroy others, they seek to understand and work together with others. The truth is that your "leadership" poisons our community, and you have earned no real respect for your work. Rather, you have people who follow you like people follow Soap Operas…"it's just something to do…and it's a lot more interesting to follow somebody else's drama than to deal with the real issues in my own life." Sad. Nobody respects soap opera actors…they just watch them and laugh. That is sadly what is happening for you…you are merely cheap entertainment. And when you're gone, your following will just move on to the next burning flame without a care for you at all. You have no legacy, you're a shiny thing that people are enamored with for the moment. That's all.

This is truly unfortunate as I believe you have literary talent, should you opt to use it to build others up, rather than tearing everyone who doesn't agree with you down. I would challenge you to use half the energy you use to destroy others (making up blatant lies) to make the world a better place. That would be a sweet legacy to leave.

I have a feeling this comment will never make it's way onto your blog…it will be "moderated." But you will read it, no doubt. And I hope it unsettles you greatly. For you are BETTER than this…but you'd rather sell your soul on a blog to a lie to earn a buck. I hope you can sleep at night knowing the truth about who you've become.

I just wish you hadn't started that tornado 3 years ago...

I just wrote a very eloquent response to Anonymous 7:11 that somehow got deleted when I tried to type in the numbers to prove I'm not a robot.

Suffice it to say that Anonymous 7:11, you need to pull your head out. Unfortunately, the negativism is the truth.

I'm sure you are getting filthy rich selling your soul on this blog. :-) You tell the other side of the story in both city and school board news. Every one knows you have a (valid) bone to pick with R8 but it doesn't make what you report untrue. All writers are strapped with bias for one reason or another. Some try to hide theirs or deny it, but you wear yours for all to see. Which actually makes your news more honest. Even if a little or a lot biased.

what a shallow and obvious attempt to lead you away from cleaning up the big piles of s**t that are stinking up our city.

it was probably written by carol stark who is an expert at destroying people good people.

Oh, such melodrama! Mr. Turner is about as likely to have destroyed this community as Dr. Huff was to have saved it. The fact is, Mr. Turner revealed many, many important facts for the community, and those who have been exposed, along with their gullible followers, are feeling a little uncomfortable now that their "coverings" have been removed. Perhaps instead of blaming Mr. Turner for the discomfort, the guilty and their foolish followers might try acting like responsible, ethical citizens by admitting their guilt and removing themselves from positions where they can harm many.

Mr. Turner has not caused this district to lose 100 teachers a year for the last three years. Mr. Turner has not misappropriated funds, fired people unjustly, lied to the public, hidden the pornographic pictures of students hidden on an employee's computer from parents, protected supervisors who repeatedly and disgustingly harass and abuse employees, etc. There are too many unethical activities in the current administration to list them all anymore. Yes, the greed and the blind ambition of administration in the schools and the city are what has ruined the community, not Mr. Turner. So, save your delusional hyperbole for the soap opera crowd. Those of us who live and work in the real world appreciate the truths that Mr. Turner has revealed. And, in case you have failed to notice it, Mr. Turner has documented evidence to back up his assertions. I'm sure that his opponents have nothing to argue the point, or they would have produced their own evidence by now.

Randy, if you would just march along with the people in power everything would be great.

The "Reader" just committed every offense that they accused Randy of committing by attempting to injure or destroy him. Sounds like some of the drivel that Burlingame tries to pass off as one of his all-knowing all-seeing unbiased observations.

I will always be grateful to Randy Turner and his blog for helping to shine the light on what Bruce Speck was doing to MSSU. The university is a much better place these days, and Randy definitely helped bring about this change. Thank you, Randy.

Sounds like the truth just hit a little too close to home for 7:11.

I think someone is scared you are going to find their skeletons next. Nothing better to distract you from the war than a personal attack

The ones who have sold their souls and hurt our community are those associated and the Huff-Besendorfer group. I wonder if our schools will ever be fixed. I hope so.

Randy Turner writes a blog.
Take it how you will. But I am with the comment about MSSU. I think my students and I have been vindicated a bit.
The Health Sciences Building will bear Julio Leon's name. Speck is gone after great collateral damage. And Randy didn't look the other way, like the Globe did.
So, if you don't like what appears here, don't read it.
I just know that when others ignored the voice of student journalists, Randy stepped up. He has balls. And he puts his name on it.
So, there.

I agree. This site is just a cover as a news site to continue creating trouble. Goodbye.....
