GOP issues statement on Biden visit to St. Louis

(From the Missouri Republican Party)

Missouri Republican Party (MRP) Executive Director Matt Wills issued the following statement ahead of the Vice President's visit to St. Louis:

"Vice President Biden will try a paint a bright picture of growth and success in our economy today. Unfortunately, the facts cloud those claims. Economic growth has stalled from the last quarter of 2013 by 2.5%. The labor participation rate lower than any other time since Jimmy Carter.

“It is ironic that the Vice President chooses to launch his 2016 aspirations at a time when so many Americans are hurting. If the Vice President wants to come to our state to talk about jobs, he should be serious about it and stop playing political games with donors.

"He stands in direct opposition to the one project in particular poised to make a difference for Missourians, the Keystone XL project. Jay Nixon, an Obama protege and Sen. Claire McCaskill both support the pipeline project.

"Standing up for Americans, the Republican House has lead the way in creating opportunity by passing bill after bill to help Americans get back to work. Harry Reid and his silent majority in the Senate refuse to even hear Republican bills, signaling what can only be described as obstruction to American growth and prosperity.
