Four more Joplin R-8 jobs posted: Ship deserting sinking rat

Four teaching jobs have been posted on the Joplin R-8 website this week, including three today, and the Turner Report has heard that more could be coming in the next few days, as those who have kept the Joplin R-8 School District afloat continue to leave, sometimes for better jobs, sometimes with no job in sight, just to get away from an increasingly corrosive atmosphere under the C. J. Huff Administration.

Jobs posted this week include the following:

-High School Spanish
-Eighth grade math at East Middle School
-High School social studies
-Kindergarten- Columbia Elementary

These are in addition to the positions that have already been advertised.

Joplin High School will have to fill at least 25 vacancies, while the problems at East Middle School, which has lost more than half of its core subject teachers, have been written about previously.

I would ask how much worse does it have to get before this man gets the heave ho off the plank, but I really don't think it can get any worse. For three consecutive years the staff have fled, many not staying for even a year in the chaos or R8. Then there's the horrendous waste of tax dollars with no respect for the patrons who work so hard for their money. Add to that the lack of academic achievement, and we can only wonder what the Board is seeing that the rest of us aren't. Whatever it is, they need to share, because it appears to be a total washout in the eyes of the taxpayers.

It seems that the R8 administration has some good ideas for making instruction match the times but the question is, are they doing it for the kids? Are they doing this to make education in Joplin better? Or, are they doing this to get awards for themselves and jobs for themselves and their friends?
Until there is transparency and real support for teachers and kids, the exodus will continue.

Joplin R-8 School Board: What are you doing for the children in your district? Are you only interested in protecting the image of your Commander in Chief and his narcissistic personality? You cannot expect to raise taxes when you have not been good stewards of the huge amount of money that has been entrusted into your care. Do you think no one is watching??
