Hearing scheduled for Carthage school board member on DWI charge

A pre-trial conference for Carthage R-9 Board of Education member Dr. Mark Westhoff, who faces a driving while intoxicated charge is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday before Judge Gregory Stremel in Newton County Circuit Court.

Westhoff, 56, was arrested by the Missouri Highway Patrol May 9. In addition to the DWI, he is charged with failure to drive on the right side of the road and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

Westhoff is represented by Joplin attorney Brian Glades.
