In a story posted about a half hour ago on the Joplin Globe website, R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff says delays in moving items into the new school should not force any changes to the planned Monday, August 25, opening day.
Volunteers have been told not to show up for the remainder of this week and it is uncertain when they can be used, but Huff says the volunteers will be there when he needs them:
One thing I know about this community, when it's time to move in, we'll be able to put out the call for volunteers, and they'll come because they love our kids.
