Wallace-Bajjali to C. J. Huff: We have a Coca-Cola building if you need it

I had an uncle who heard that you could get the best high from Coke. He tried it once, got the bottle stuck in his nose, and that was the last we heard of that.

That paragraph had nothing whatsoever to do with this post, but I haven't told that joke in years and I needed to get it out of my system.

It has been a trying week for Wallace-Bajjali Development Partners, our city's master developer, and C. J. Huff, superintendent of the Joplin R-8 School District.

Wallace-Bajjali has missed three deadlines for closing on the old Coca-Cola building and C. J. Huff's plans to start moving into the new Joplin High School/Franklin Technical Center were thwarted when inspectors gave the buildings failing marks.

Wallace-Bajjali has a big building; C. J. Huff has a big need.

Who wouldn't want to see a six-and-a-half-mile ribbon wrapped around the Coca-Cola Building?

Maybe CJ could swap them some old grade schools. No cash needed. Which is a good thing, since he'd have to borrow it somewhere.

thanks for the laugh--it was a real LOL moment.

Things go better with Coca Cola, things go better with Coke! Algebra and Coke. Biology and Coke. What could be better than that?

You're a funny man, Turner. Keep up the reporting. This is the only place we can really find out what's happening.

And the new school song? "I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony..."

Gets you right in the heart, doesn't it? 2200 kids joining hands and buying the world a Coke. What a vision.
