Captured federal escapee has long criminal history in Jasper County

It was no surprise that federal escapee Joseph Shane Endicott, who was captured moments ago by the Joplin Police Department, was here in Jasper County.

Endicott, who escaped from a Springfield federal prison facility, is originally from Carl Junction and has a long history of criminal activity dating back to 1998, according to Jasper County Circuit Court records, including three assault charges, one of them for attacking a law enforcement officer.

Endicott's record is listed below:

-September 11, 1998- pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon, given unsupervised probation

-September 15, 1998- pleaded guilty to assault in the third degree, given suspended sentence

-November 28, 2001- pleaded guilty to tampering with a motor vehicle, sentenced to three years in prison

-August 22, 2004- pleaded guilty to unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, fined $250

-March 18, 2005- pleaded guilty to assault in the second degree, sentenced to seven years in prison. He was turned over to federal authorities after completing that sentenced to serve time for being a felon possessing a firearm

-June 24, 2005- pleaded guilty to assault on a law enforcement officer- 60 days in jail

the Joplin police have been itching to use their urban assault vehicle looked like Afghanistan on McKinley

I am so over it its all over fb and I am just thankful No One was hurt or worse. Shane needs prayer and some true intervintion where was his support system what happened very troubling
