Joplin murder suspect in country illegally

Jasper County Circuit Court records indicate that the man charged with first degree murder in connection with a death Sunday morning at 125 S. McConnell Ave. in Joplin is in the United States illegally.

Information on the murder charges against Leonard Mendoza, 29, Joplin, have not been posted online at this writing, but a warrant was issued for Mendoza's arrest on a felony forgery charge with the following notation- "Bond Denied-Illegal Alien."

The Joplin Police Department issued the following news release this morning on Mendoza's arrest on the murder charge:

On November 9, 2014 at 10:33 A.M the Joplin Police Department responded to 125 S. McConnell Ave. for a report of unknown trouble.

Officers located a deceased male inside the residence and investigators were summoned when it was determined to be a suspicious death.

At this time the name of the victim is not being released pending notification of next of kin.The investigation lead to the arrest of Adan Bautista age 17 of that address for Hindering Prosecution (Class D Felony) and Leonardo M. Mendoza. Age 29 also of that address for 1st Degree Murder.

Both subjects are being held in the Joplin City Jail pending filing of formal charges.

An autopsy will be completed on the victim today at 11:00 AM at Frontier Forensics located in Kansas City, KS. 

The investigation continues.

that is why I only eat at Del Rio if I want good Mexican bunch of illegals working at the other Mexican places and a lot of money laundering from drug money watch how this plays out
