Bomb squad sent to U. S. Bank in Springfield

A Springfield Fire Department bomb squad was sent to the U. S. Bank at 417 E. St. Louis in Springfield this morning to check out a suspicious bag:

(Fire Department spokeswoman Cara) Erwin said the bomb squad is currently on the scene evaluating the situation and determining what needs to be done. Springfield Business Journal photographer Wes Hamilton observed the bomb squad’s explosive ordinance disposal robot on the scene.

Bank employees have been evacuated from the building.
