No truth to rumor about Joplin R-8 Board alcohol poisoning incident

I try to do everything I can to get to the truth about rumors involving the Joplin R-8 School District.

Earlier tonight, I heard that the televised board meetings had become a favorite at college campuses where students take a drink everytime certain educational buzzwords are used.

The rumor was that the students were taking a drink every time one of the Joplin Elementary principals or someone in upper administration used the words "innovative" or "learning standards". The kids who had those words were all right, according to the rumor, but the one who had the word "rigor" was reportedly hospitalized with alcohol poisoning.

After investigating this rumor, I found it was not college students, but adults who were not playing a game, but were nearly driven to drink by listening to endless, meaningless jargon.

Thank heavens no one drew the word "data."

LOL! Reminds me of the Bruce Speck days, but our word was "Benchmark".
