Light wintry mix possible for Joplin area tonight through weekend

..LIGHT WINTRY WEATHER POSSIBLE TONIGHT THROUGH THE WEEKEND...

A BAND OF LIGHT SNOW MAY DEVELOP LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE
EVENING ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI AND THE EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS.
LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF A DUSTING TO UP TO AN INCH MAY BE
POSSIBLE FROM NEAR WARSAW DOWN HOUSTON AND EAST OF THAT LINE.

MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL BEGIN TO MOVE INTO THE AREA
LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY MORNING. A ROUND OF LIGHT WINTRY WEATHER
MAY DEVELOP BY SUNRISE TOMORROW MORNING ACROSS SOUTHERN MISSOURI
INTO THE EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF I-44. A
LIGHT WINTRY MIX OF LIGHT FREEZING DRIZZLE...LIGHT FREEZING
RAIN...AND LIGHT SLEET WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS INITIAL ROUND.
SOME LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS OF SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN MAY BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS SOUTHERN MISSOURI FRIDAY MORNING.

ANOTHER ROUND OF PRECIPITATION WILL DEVELOP LATER FRIDAY EVENING
AND FRIDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM UP ABOVE FREEZING
GENERALLY WEST OF HIGHWAY 65 FRIDAY NIGHT BUT REMAIN AROUND OR
SLIGHTLY BELOW FREEZING EAST OF HIGHWAY 65 WHEN THIS NEXT ROUND OF
PRECIPITATION MOVES IN. LIGHT FREEZING RAIN MAY BE POSSIBLE WITH
AN ADDITIONAL LIGHT GLAZE OF ICE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE EASTERN
MISSOURI OZARKS AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI.

ALL AREAS WILL CLIMB ABOVE FREEZING BY SATURDAY MORNING WITH RAIN
LIKELY AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE. MODERATE RAINFALL WILL
BE POSSIBLE ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI WITH ONE TO
TWO INCHES OF RAINFALL POSSIBLE. THIS RAINFALL ALONG WITH MELTING SNOW
ON THE GROUND MAY CAUSE SOME MINOR FLOODING ON AREA CREEKS AND
STREAMS.

COLDER AIR RETURNS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THIS STORM SYSTEM SATURDAY
EVENING WHICH MAY CHANGE THE RAIN BACK TO LIGHT SNOW OR A LIGHT
WINTRY MIX SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE ENDING SUNDAY MORNING. PEOPLE
ACROSS THE AREA SHOULD KEEP UP TO DATE ON THE ACTIVE WEATHER
PATTERN THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
