Moark gets O. K. for expansion

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources issued a permit to Moark to expand its facilities in Neosho, the Joplin Globe reported less than an hour ago. Permits were also approved for Moark facilities in Jasper and McDonald counties, the article said.
It's business as usual at DNR and big business, as usual, for the state of Missouri.

Wasn't the result of this process preordained? When the normal processes of government are closed to justice, citizens have only two choices: bend over or stand up. I'm thinking the DNR head would like a truck load of chicken manure in his front yard.

After moving to Missouri, I was shocked the first time I heard a boil order for water broadcast on the tv. I had never heard of such a thing in the state that I had lived in prior to moving here.

After living in Missouri for a while, I began to understand why. Water polluted, trees disappearing at breath taking speed just since I moved here. I wonder how much longer you can maintain your status as a tourist destination state.

If Newton Countians want more control over who builds what where in the county, they should vote for county zoning.
