Late contributions coming in for Woolston, the Tornado Mayor

Expect to see more advertising from City Councilman Mike Woolston in his re-election campaign.

The Committee to Re-Elect Woolston, the Tornado Mayor, received $800 in contributions this week, according to 24-hour reports filed with the Jasper County Clerk's office.

Bennie Crossland, Joplin, of Crossland Construction gave $500, while the other $300 came from Thomas Mueller, Montclair, New Jersey. Mueller is the CEO of Salov, North America, a company that sells olive oil, and is also a member of the Empire District Electric Company Board of Directors.

The late contributions are in addition to the $8,610 Woolston reported receiving in his eight-day-before-the-election report filed March 31 with the Jasper County Clerk's office. In that report, Woolston said he had spent $4,969.67 and still had $3,640.03 in the bank.

Woolston has received $5,000 from the Joplin Progress Committee.

Woolston's biggest expenditures were $2,239.75 for advertising on KOAM and $2,100 for advertising in the Joplin Globe. He listed another $127.50 for KOAM/KFJX and $502.72 with Davis Advertising, Joplin.
