Right-to-work bill fails, but Joplin-area legislators all for it

For some reason, though there are few union employees in this corner of the state, Joplin-area legislators have uniformly backed anti-union legislation.

The same thing happened today, as Democrats and Republicans joined to stop the so-called right-to-work bill that Speaker of the House Tim Jones has been pushing. The bill needed 82 votes to pass and received 78.

Among those 78, of course, were Joplin-area legislators Bill White, R-Joplin, Bill Lant, R-Joplin, Bill Reiboldt, R-Joplin, Charlie Davis, R-Webb City, Tom Flanigan, R-Carthage, and Mike Kelley, R-Lamar.
