The superintendent contract is the final item on the agenda that was posted Friday.
The board reportedly made its decision on which candidate it would offer the contract during a closed session Monday in the superintendent's conference room.
During the previous week, the board conducted interviews with the two finalists, Harrison, Arkansas Superintendent Mendy Moss and former Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Neosho Superintendent Gary Quinn.
Other items on tap for the board include approval of the listing of the Washington Education Center with a realtor, choosing a contractor for the Early Childhood Center construction, and a look at proposed Joplin High School course changes for the 2017-2018 school year.
A closed session is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Old news, it's public today. Cats out of the bag, contract negotiations have been an issue. Initial by the board was low.
Well, who is it?
Harrison Daily Times announced that Dr. Mendy Moss is new hire at Joplin.
After reading the information on both finalists one wonders what the other 60 candidates had to offer.. Law suits, sexual crime investigations,
retirement, double salary, health issues and five year plans to end career?
Merry Christmas Joplin your gift is on the way. Would you like Mork with Mendy?
Let the BOE have a few months to pat themselves on the back. I agree with 8:01 on the fact that both of these candidates had too much baggage to be considered. But hey, Koch is a HR man, he knows what he is doing. Ever since day 1 on the BOE, that's been obvious. Right?
