(From Sen. Jill Schupp, D-Creve Coeur)
Governor Eric Greitens has once again shown his lack of concern for everyday Missourians and our public schools. First he cut funding for education and now this.
On a second attempt, his hand-selected group of Missouri School Board of Education appointees, none of whom have been confirmed by the Senate, voted 5-3 to oust our well-respected Education Commissioner Margie Vandeven.
I am among those who have praised Vandeven for her professionalism, dedication to Missouri’s children, and work to improve our schools. There has not been any real information from the Governor for his unilateral effort to remove her.
Education and the well-being of all of our children was what moved me to public service. Our future lies in the hands, minds and hearts of today’s students. This current political manipulation of our education system is an abuse of power and process that can result in long-term damage to our children’s futures.
From attacking education, to restricting women’s access to reproductive rights, to taking away services for seniors, veterans and people with disabilities, the Governor seems to have an agenda all his own, with no regard for how it hurts Missouri families.
I am committed to fight against these abuses and stand up for everyday Missourians.

So tax funded indoctrination, murder and handouts? And she's all for it. Well most "everyday" Missourians are NOT!
