Barton County Sheriff re-elected, defeats former sheriff

Barton County Sheriff John Simpson was elected for a second term today easily beating his predecessor Mitchell Shaw 2,009 to 753.

Ben Reed won a five-way battle for District One Commissioner with 420 votes, followed by Rick Fast 410, Charles Webb 356, Dan Graham 142 and Andrew Clark 34.

Jennie McManis received 994 votes for county coroner defeating Cassie Zentner 833 and Shannon Higgins 767.

Chad Johnson was elected county assessor with 1,347 votes to 1,232 for Robert Lawrence, Jr.
