Mercy Hospital kitchen fails Joplin Health Department inspection; Wings N More passes reinspection

The Mercy Hospital Kitchen, 100 E. Mercy Way, operated by Morrison Management Specialists failed a Joplin Health Department inspection today, according to information posted on the department website.

The inspection noted two priority violations.

-Yogurt held in the leftside FWE reach-in cooler was being cold held above 41 degrees.

-Utensil and dish surface are not reaching temperatures of 160 degrees or greater on the Hobart pass-through dishwasher.

The inspection also cited three core violations:

-Eye wash sink pipe was leaking water above the mop sink. Maintenance was called and addressed the issue during the inspection.

-No trash receptacle was observed around the handwashing sinks closest to the ice maker in the kitchen that are supplied with paper towels.

-Several boxes of single-service items were observed being stored on the floor in the basement dry storage area.

Mercy's Coffee Shop passed its inspection.

Wings N More, 1318 E. 7th, which failed an inspection April 25, passed its reinspection Tuesday.
