A Joplin woman was charged with three felonies, third-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon after allegedly threatening to slice her boyfriend's throat, according to a probable cause statement filed Friday in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety for Kristina Leann Shockley (DOB 2004) with the conditions that she not go near the alleged victim or possess any firearms or deadly weapons.
From the probable cause statement:
I contacted Victim 1 who confirmed they are in a romantic relationship with Kristina Shockley and have lived together for over a year. Kristina later confirmed this.Victim 1 advised Kristina has assaulted him numerous times in the past to include hitting his head.
Victim 1 requested to be transported to the hospital to have his head evaluated. Victim 1 also showed me scratches on his back and shoulder blade that they stated were caused by Kristina. Victim 1 informed me Kristina attempted to assault him with a knife earlier in the day and showed me a video on his phone of the incident. The video was time stamped 6/5/2025 at 1053 AM.
In the video it appears Victim 1 is sitting down recording himself from below while he eats. You can view Victim 1’s face and he is arguing with Kristina over cooking food. You can hear Kristina moving closer to him and then you see a knife blade quickly sling across the screen towards Victim 1’s face. The knife appears to be a large kitchen carving knife. It appears the blade comes within a couple of feet from hitting Victim 1’s face.
Victim 1 moves his head back creating distance. The camera quickly tilts and you can clearly see Kristina holding the knife.
Kristina says, “F--king quit, oh you got your f--king phone out, let me see your phone.”
Kristina tries to take the phone away, but Victim 1 was able to move it. You can now clearly see Kristina who is wearing a pink/black spotted night gown. The knife appears to be in her left hand. Kristina says, “Let me see what’s on the phone.” Kristina then switches the knife from her left hand to her right hand and quickly jabs the knife at Victim 1. This attempt was much further away.
Kristina then says, “F--king quit, {you're} nothing but a lazy bastard.” Kristina appeared to be the primary aggressor.
Victim 1 later told me that after the video was done recording, Kristina put the knife to his throat and threatened to kill him by slicing his throat. Victim 1 showed me with his hands how it happened.
I contacted Kristina and informed her of her Miranda warning to which she understood and agreed to speak with me. I informed Kristina of the video of her with a knife from this morning. I asked Kristina to tell me what happened.
Kristina said, “Yeah, I was making lunch, so I had one in my hand.”
I showed Kristina the video of the incident. I asked Kristina if she swung a knife at Victim 1.
Kristina answered, “I suppose, he follows me around the house.” Kristina said that was after Victim 1 had followed her around the house and beat on her. I asked why she swung a knife at him.
Kristina stated, “He’s been doing crazy stuff for days, I should have called the cops days ago.”
Victim 1 provided a written statement and wished to pursue charges.
The case was investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

Kristina Leann Shockley, needs to get help as well as the victim - this lifestyle is not normal and will end up with one or both in jail or serious injuries or worse. Any type of Violence whether perpetrated by a Woman or Man should be taken seriously - if you're in this type of relationship - you should seek a way to get out - do not think it is going to change or get better - it will probably not and especially if you have children - do the right thing - for them and yourself.
