Joplin man killed in crash while fleeing from Highway Patrol

A Joplin man was killed in a one-vehicle crash while fleeing from the Missouri State Highway Patrol 8:51 p.m. Monday on Rosebay Drive seven miles northeast of Seneca.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Luther Sherman, 38, Joplin, was fleeing from patrol vehicles when it traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a river embankment.








Sherman died at Mercy Joplin.

A passenger in his vehicle a 36-year-old Joplin man, was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.

The fatality was the second this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.

This just saved the Court system and Taxpayers, time and money. Same thing in Minnesota. Failure to follow the police or state or federal agents' commands can result in consequences. No one is above the laws of the land.
