Mark Alford: Senate must pass SAVE America Act

(From Fourth District Congressman Mark Alford)

Valentine’s Day is usually about showing love and appreciation for the people who matter most. This year, it would be pretty sweet if Democrats showed just a little more love for the American people…and a lot less political theater.

This week, House Republicans passed the SAVE America Act, a commonsense bill designed to strengthen confidence in our elections and protect the integrity of every legal vote. Now the Senate must act swiftly and send it to President Trump’s desk.

Let me ask two straightforward questions:

Do you trust our elections? And do you believe only American citizens should vote in American elections?

Across Missouri’s Fourth District, I hear the same answer again and again: absolutely.

The SAVE America Act reflects that simple, reasonable expectation.

The bill requires proof of citizenship to register for federal elections, establishes clear photo identification standards for voting, and improves coordination between state and federal officials to help keep voter rolls accurate. This is not radical. It is not complicated. It is basic accountability. When Americans trust the process, our democracy is stronger. When they don’t, confidence erodes, and division grows.
Unfortunately, instead of working toward solutions that restore public trust, the Left chose to vote no and then claim the sky is falling. It would be refreshing, and yes in light of Valentine's Day, sweet, to see Washington Democrats spend less time grandstanding for headlines and more time standing up for the citizens they were elected to serve.

Here in Missouri, we already require identification to vote, and our elections remain both secure and accessible. This bill simply applies that same commonsense standard nationwide. The argument that asking for proof of citizenship is somehow unreasonable just doesn’t hold up. If you can get a ride to the polls, you can get a ride to obtain a photo ID. Millions of Americans do it every year without issue.

The Senate now faces a clear choice: act decisively to strengthen trust in our elections, or continue the cycle of delay and political posturing. So, as we celebrate what we love most, let’s also remember the responsibility we share to protect our republic. I proudly voted yes on the SAVE America Act because your vote deserves security, clarity, and respect!

Let's make it harder for women to vote. Let's make it harder for deployed service members to vote, let's do our best to pretend that millions of illegals are voting in Federal elections so we can try and nationalize elections to ensure our Pedo Movement, AKA MAGA, can keep on trucking. Trash.

I trusted elections and wish I could trust them now. Because of one mentally disturbed seditious traitor who wears a fake hairpiece and orange mascara and erroneously fancies himself as "a king", we can no longer believe the republican party will follow the constitution. 1/6 made it abundantly clear that the magats and their illegitimate narcissistic master, will steal anything......elections, redacted epstein files, murder innocents by gunfire, starvation by removing lifesaving aid, etc, etc. This maga regime is an evil and self serving abomination of the constitution and basic human rights. FACT.

Person on the right: "We're simply asking for identification to vote in our most sacred process as a citizen of the United States, you know, the same ID you need in order to do literally anything to live in the US."
Libtard: "wow, so now WOMEN cant vote or PEOPLE OF COLOR!!" "This is TOTALLY nazi Germany Hitler 2.0 and completely destroying the constitution and country that I don't actually care about! I'm pretty sure he's sneaking in fine print that he can be a KING NOW!"
Once again the left coming in with the mental gymnastics that only a child could conceive.
Stupidity on all levels. First of all, you think that elections have been legitimate until Trump came on the scene, as if they haven't been rigged in some form or fashion since any of us have been alive. But let's pretend that they are legitimate... You're saying that Trump, the guy that everyone in government hates, including most republicans (in government) until they decided to hop on the bandwagon, this guy was somehow able to rig our elections to win? With the FBI, CIA, every agency against him? Wow, that is impressive! Oh wait that's right, you dumdums still believe in the Russian pp hoax lol.
So this guy stole his first election, wasn't able to steal his second election because Biden was just such an outstanding candidate with such a huge fan base and totally wasn't Weekend at Bernie-ing it the entire time, and then again steal the 3rd election while all of his detractors were in office and behind the scenes... Right.
The only fact you guys presented is that he's a narcissist and is clearly avoiding the Epstein files. 1/6 was a guided tour, you clearly know nothing about that day if you think unarmed grandmas can break their way into the most sacred of buildings in the United States. Recounting votes and auditing the night of the election is the opposite of stealing. "innocents" is a funny way to say useful idiots. Starvation by removing lifesaving aid? You talking about what Israel did to Palestinians?...
Anyways, can't wait for an intelligent well thought out response to my comment, something along the lines of "sounds like tinfoil hat MAGAT talk 2 me, KKK orange man bad defund ICE" insert flag of the day over profile picture
