15-year-old Joplin girl killed in ATV crash

A Joplin teen was killed in a one-vehicle crash 11:13 a.m. today six miles north of Greenfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a Yamaha 350 ATV driven by a 15-year-old Joplin girl traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.









Dade County Coroner Gary Banta pronounced the girl dead at the scene at 12:01 p.m.

The fatality was the 50th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.

    Thoughts and Prayers to the Family and Friends of this young girl. Was she wearing any type of helmet?

    This young girl was unfortunately not wearing a helmet. Prayers for her and her family.

    Please if you or your children ride bikes, scooters, atv's utv's, go carts, or motorcycles, etc., - provide them with some type of helmet to protect their head and brain in case of an impact or accident!
