(From Joplin Schools)“This morning, a McKinley Elementary Student was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near campus before school. Staff responded immediately and called 911, and the student was taken to the hospital for evaluation with their parents present.
Our thoughts are with the student and their family. Out of respect for the family’s privacy and in accordance with district policy, we cannot share further details at this time.
The Joplin Schools are reviewing morning arrival procedures at McKinley and will take additional precautions as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety.”
