Webb City man charged with assaulting autistic teen

A Webb City man assaulted a 13-year-old autistic boy shortly after throwing a dog against a wall in a Carthage home, according to a probable cause statement filed Friday in Jasper County Circuit Court.

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office charged Iziah Maliek Todd (DOB 2001) with third-degree assault of a special victim. His bond has been set at $15,000.

The probable cause statement said Todd was intoxicated when he arrived at the home "and began arguing with family members. During the argument, Todd picked up a dog and threw it against the wall."

The 13-year-old, upset by what happened to the dog, confronted Todd, according to the statement.

"A verbal argument ensued, which escalated when Todd struck J1 on the left side of the face with an open hand, causing injury."

Todd's arraignment was scheduled for today.

The case was investigated by the Carthage Police Department.

One time I threw a dog out the window but it was a hotdog so nobody really cared that much. But still it’s not really worth slapping someone over. Just get another one of the grill and move on with your life. You could even mix it up a little bit and try a hamburger for your second go round. The baked beans are pretty good too but I wouldn’t go with the potato salad because it has been sitting out a while and there have been a lot of flies around too. I noticed a lot more flies since that dog has been using our yard for you know what and I think it might be that same dog that got throwed against the wall and that’s just not right, it’s basically cruelty to animals if you think about it.
