The Joplin Globe will run a story in its Wednesday print edition revealing that former Newton County Jail inmate Donald R. Allen's lawsuit against former Sheriff Ron Doerge has been dismissed with prejudice.
Of course, that story initially broke one week ago, Wednesday, March 2, in The Turner Report. The Globe reports that it was unable to find out whether Allen is still in prison.
He is.
My latest information indicates Allen is still being held at the Western Reception and Diagnostic Center in St. Joseph.

The late Jack Morris left the money to create the Jack B. Morris Chair of entrepreneurial Studies and the Jack B. Morris Professorship of Economic Policy. Mr. Morris died in May 2004.
He was founder and chief executive of MPI Corp. until he sold the company to Leggett & Platt in 1986 and joined the Leggett & Platt board of directors, according to the News article.

Cox Communications proposed sale of a number of its cable franchises, including those in Missouri and Texas, has nothing to do with its ongoing battle with Nexstar Broadcasting over retransmission rights, according to an article on the website for Nexstar station KTAL in Shreveport, La.
The station confirmed that Cox and Nexstar are continuing to negotiate. Nexstar CEO Perry Sook told investors at the Bear-Stearnes Conference last week that his company was negotiating with one of the two cable companies (Cable One is the other) with which it has been battling since late last year. KTAL quoted Cable One vice president Tom Basinger as saying that no progress has been made and no new talks have been scheduled with Nexstar.
In what may be a thawing of the situation, Cox spokeswoman Amy Cohn said Cox has "not ruled out any options."
Despite the fact that the story appeared on a Nexstar website, it appears to be balanced and offers viewpoints from all sides.
