Arkansas native Meredith Mitchell was introduced to the KSN audience during the 5 p.m. show today. Ms. Mitchell, who speaks with a delightful drawl (that's what they say about us in Arkansas), will do the weekend weather, while Toni Valliere, who has shined in that job, will move to the morning show.
I have not heard who she will be replacing there, and to be honest with you, since school started, today was about the first time I have had the opportunity to see the five o'clock news, so I just happened upon this story.
I'm still more than happy with Sarah Pierik and Dave Pylant on the KOAM Morning News, but with Ms. Valliere on the KSN morning show, I will give it a looksee and see how it works. The problem with KSN's morning show has been that it has stuck with a format that was more suited to the personalities and styles of Gary Bandy and Tiffany Alaniz long after those two were gone. They were able to pull off the pep rallies and the constant remotes, but their successors have not fared quite as well.
The same problem has plagued KODE's morning show, though Alan Matthews has remained a steady influence on the program since the station promoted Malorie Maddox to 5, 6 and 10 p.m. anchor a couple of years back. Though he has gone through three or four co-hosts during that time, he has lent the station a touch of professionalism. And though I really don't have any complaint with Brian Hamman as the new evening anchor, it seems a shame that Matthews did not receive a decent shot at that position.
Toni is replacing Anna. The KSN morning show only has one way to go at this point. The goal is to wake people up, not put them to sleep. Toni should do well.
ReplyDeleteMatthews did have a shot at the job. He filled in for weeks. He's not the nicest personality in the market. Oh what you should see off-air.
ReplyDeleteAnna is being replaced? Is she taking a job in another market or just a different role at KSNF?
ReplyDeleteWhat, replace Anna? And just when she was starting to be able to read the teleprompter!!! She did, however, learn that you don't wear high heels to a high school pep rally!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that they are finally getting rid of Anna! She has been terrible since day one! I don't know how many times I've sent in complaints! She has no personality at all!!!! Never smiles and who in their right mind would ever wear high heels to a pep rally? Give me a break! She is definitely a piece of work!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say - Welcome to Toni! I just love her! She's so funny and I think she will make a great addition to the morning show!
ReplyDeleteSo are they replacing Anna or did she get a new job somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteShe put in her two weeks notice. She's "getting out of the business"
ReplyDeleteAnna often dressed like she was in another profession, anyway: The oldest profession.
