Sports legends die over the weekend

A couple of sports legends, one national, the other regional, died over the past few days.
AP reports that Chris Schenkel, who handled almost every sport during his long career at ABC, died, while today's Springfield News-Leader reports the death of long-time sports editor and columnist Marty Eddlemon.
To those watching television sports in the 1960s, it seemed as if either Schenkel or Curt Gowdy was on every telecast.
Eddlemon was legendary for his contacts with coaches and players on both the high school and collegiate scene. They will both be missed.
