Springdale police chief decision may be made tomorrow
The interviewing of 11 candidates for the Springdale, Ark., police chief position ends today with three interviews, according to the Springdale Morning News.
Eleven candidates were scheduled to be interviewed over a three-day period beginning Tuesday, including Joplin Police Chief Kevin Lindsey. Lindsey and the other 10 finalists were selected from an initial field of 64.
The applicants are being interviewed for about an hour and receiving tours of the police station, the article said.
Following the final interview, commissioners will discuss the candidates and could select a new chief as early as tomorrow...or they may narrow the field and interview some of the candidates again, according to the article.
This is the second police chief position that Lindsey is known to have applied for. He was one of three finalists for the Grand Island, Neb. post, which went to a local candidate. Three local candidates are still in the running for the Springdale position, the article said.
