News-Leader weighs in on voting proposal
Today's Springfield News-Leader features an editorial suggesting how to properly implement a plan proposed by Sen. Delbert Scott, R-Lowry City, which would require all Missouri voters to have photo I. D. before they can cast their ballots.
I found the editorial lacking in some necessary critical thinking: Who are these 170,000 Missourians without photo IDs, and does "who they are" play into the politics of this proposal? Why is anyone talking about election fraud when it appears that very little exists in Missouri? Are these 170,000 people involved in the fraud that isn't happening?
