Nodler has better things to do

The proposed sale of some of MOHELA's loans was supposed to get a fair hearing today, but Senate Higher Education Committee Chairman Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, cut it short before opponents had a chance to say anything. Nodler's handling of the session is included in Terry Ganey's article in today's Columbia Tribune.

Randy, your headline about Nodler is misleading. The Columbia Tribune article clearly stated that the hearing lasted two hours. The article failed to mention the hearing began at 8am and was curtailed at 10am when the full Senate was called to order for the Tuesday legislative session. It was accurate of the reporter to include Nodler's invitation for persons wishing to make further comments to the committee to submit those in writting.

I would have stayed but I had some bribes...er, complementary tickets for an early movie. There are fewer cripples out there if you go early.

"Second Thoughts" section of today's Columbia Tribune:
State Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, did not cut off testimony of his Senate
Education Committee on Tuesday, as reported in the Tribune on Feb. 14. Nodler
said he had to conclude the committee meet-ing because the full Senate was
going into session and rules preclude committee meetings during a session." Reporter Terry Ganey had the integrity to correct his error....Does Randy with a front page apology?????

Isn't it interesting that a full day after The Columbia Tribune retracted their story, Randy Turner still has the story up and his incorrect headline passing on false information about Nodler. No surprise, most of the negative comments about Nodler for the last year on here have been based on false information.!

Whoever this person is that is using the screen name "Gary toddler" is very offesive. This person has used the term cripple or crips in his comments repeatedly. He or she thinks they are attacking Nodler but he or she is really attacking the disabled with an offesive term. This is not Senator Nodler despising the disabled but his critic!
