Jasper Council restores Ogle to fire chief position

One of the strangest occurrences, and there were many, of the John Rodebush era in Jasper politics, was his removal of Jerry Ogle as fire chief.
A post on the Lamar Chat message board on Lamarmo.com indicates one of the first actions of the newly-constituted City Council Saturday was to restore Ogle to his position.
Rodebush, who rode roughshod over the city for the past year, immediately resigned after his rival, Jim McCorkle, and Vic Crazybear were elected to the council Tuesday, taking away the votes with which he had made a series of controversial decisions, most approved by a 3-2 margin with Rodebush casting the tiebreaking votes.
