It would be interesting to know if the Fired Up Missouri blog posting pushed up their timetable, but Springfield News-Leader officials have confirmed that Tony Messenger of the Columbia Tribune will take over as editorial page editor later this month.
According to the News-Leader website, it was posted as a bulletin at 5:23 p.m. My blog says it was posted here at 3:16 p.m., but as regular readers know my time is actually two hours behind, so it was posted here at 5:16 p.m. I would guess News-Leader readers are more concerned about how well Messenger does his job than when it was announced, however.
