I'm a day late, but happy birthday to former Carthage Press Lifestyles Editor Stacy Rector. Stacy was a high school senior when she began working for The Press back in 1997.
She was instrumental in the beginning of Teen Tuesday, a section we ran each week that was devoted to news about the younger set. Teen Tuesday went on to win the Missouri Press Association's award for Best Community Service the following year and Stacy became the youngest reporter in MPA history to receive a first place award when her profile of a teen mother at Carthage Senior High School earned the top award in the Best Feature Story category.
Stacy lives in Texas now and was married to Kevin Willingham in April, therefore, the first Turner Report wedding photo accompanies this post.
