Editorial: O'Sullivan closing bad news, but not fatal

The economy in South Boston, Va., took a hit a few days ago when O'Sullivan Industries announced it would close its plant there, causing 200 to lose their jobs, and transfer the work to the Lamar facility, where 150 jobs will be added over the next 12 months.
Undoubtedly, the closing hurts South Boston, but the community is not planning to roll over and play dead. South Boston Gazette-Virginian staff writer Keith Strange addresses the issue in a column. Strange wrote:

It wouldn't be hard for the collective community conscience to just give in, pack our bags and consider the county lost.
But that’s not what we stalwart souls are about, is it?
Here in Halifax County we don’t give up, we come up with a plan and make it happen.
