Blunt, Craig, 'Phone Sex Grandma' director and white supremacist to meet in Seventh District battle royal

Having defeated a transsexual candidate, among others, in the Republican primary, Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt, is the odd-on favorite to win re-election, but this is shaping up to be one fascinating race.
Blunt's general election opponents include a Truman from Lamar, not Harry S but the director of the independent film "Phone Sex Grandma," a white supremacist from Aurora, Frazier Glenn Miller, and, of course, you can't leave out Kevin Craig, the Libertarian candidate.

Republican Primary
Blunt captured the Republican nomination with 47,580 votes or 79.9 percent. Finishing second was Clendon Kinder of Joplin with 5,176 votes, 8.7 percent, followed by the district's first transsexual candidate, Midge Potts of Springfield with 4,275 votes or 7.2 percent, and Bernard Kennetz with 2,493 votes or 4.2 percent.

Democratic Primary
Jack Truman's path to victory was almost as easy. The actor/director and veteran, formerly named John Kerney, captured 6,879 votes, 45.9 percent, easily outdistancing Ron Lapham of Bolivar with 4,357 votes or 29.1 percent, and Charles Christup of Cape Fair, with 3,759 votes or 25.1 percent. Making Truman's win even more interesting is his place of residence, Lamar, which is in the Fourth District, not the Seventh. More on Truman's background can be found in the March 27 Turner Report.

Libertarian Primary
The best showing came from Libertarian candidate Kevin Craig; he picked up all 224 of the votes in his party's primary.

Write-in candidate
After a U. S. District Court decision failed to get him on the Democratic ballot (and he was also rejected by the Republican and Libertarian parties), white supremacist Frazier Glenn Miller, Aurora, publisher of the White Patriot Leader newspaper, joins the race as a write-in candidate. This post from the June 3 Turner Report gives an idea of the kind of material that is included in Miller's publication.
