Fired Up: Blunt looking to leave Congressional post

No direct sources are cited, but the partisan "Fired Up" blog today featured a post from Roy Temple that said Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt is considering leaving the House and going into the lobbying business:

Sources tell Fired Up! that Roy has never fully recovered from his loss in the Majority Leader's race and that he no longer finds his role in the House fulfilling. It's clear that he will never be Speaker. And If the GOP retains the majority in November, but the margins narrow, Blunt could easily end up losing the leadership post he now has.

So, word is that Rep. Blunt has been quietly testing the waters for a move to K Street, where he would join his wife, son and daughter in the lobbying business.

Temple's post includes a reference to this Washington Post article, concerning the scramble of politicians to land lobbying positions.
Though Blunt is not mentioned by name in the Post article, it does say that two Congressmen who are seeking reelection are testing the waters for lobbying jobs.
Of course, it should be noted that Blunt's wife, son and daughter are lobbyists, and the Post article quotes Gregg Hartley of the powerful K Street firm Cassidy & Associates. Hartley, of course, was Congressman Blunt's former chief of staff.

So if Roy's not running and Matt might not be running but is airing ads about the "good job" that he thinks he has done and has been doing some connecting to political people on the national level, does that mean Matt might be thinking about moving to D.C.?

He hopes....thats about like moving a Kingergartner to 12th grade and skip the ones between, but I hope he tries it, he'll get a message from the voters about his competency.

Get rid of Roy and his little boy. Let us hope for the good of all of us they disappear!
