A Carl Junction man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 12:50 p.m. today on Locust Road, two and half miles west of Purcell.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2013 John Deere Gator driven by a 71-year-old Carl Junction man traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a barbed wire fence and a fence post and overturned.
The driver was pronounced dead at Mercy Joplin at 1:52 p.m.
The fatality was the 73rd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
