Unless it has been hidden somewhere and I haven't been able to find it, the Joplin Globe has no story on its website on the death of its former top editor Tom Murray.
Mr. Murray's obituary is featured in that section. The Globe's policy is to charge for obituaries and run just a brief paragraph of information in its deaths section.
Hopefully, something is in the works, but even if it is, would it have been too much to ask, to have a bulletin and at least a little bit of the information that was featured in the AP account?
This should have been the Joplin Globe's story from the start. The deaths of people who have been newsmakers or who have held positions of importance are major news stories. Apparently, someone needs to remind the Globe of that.
Two words: Beyond. Embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteEddie S. should be ashamed.
