Nixa High School student Spencer Prevallet was helping a teacher around 11 a.m. Monday when the teacher received a vague e-mail about the school shooting in Joplin.
Prevallet found it hard to believe and consulted the Internet to find out more.
"I thought, oh, wow, another one," she said.
"As soon as you start to re-gain your sense of security, you hear something else: another school goes into lockdown, or there is another school shooting," she said.
