Supreme Court allows Arizona voter ID law
Though it will have no effect on Missouri for the November election, the U. S. Supreme Court's decision Friday to allow a photo voter ID law to be used in Arizona leaves no doubt that the issue is a long way from being resolved.
They did so based on how the lower courts handled the case not because they were speaking to the constitutional question. "We underscore that we express no opinion here on the correct disposition, after full briefing and argument, of the appeals from the District Court’s September 11 order or on the ultimate resolution of these cases." PURCELL v. GONZALEZ
