KC Buzz Blog offers coverage of McCaskill victory

Kansas City Buzz Blog offers this close-up look at the conclusion of the U. S. Senate race between Claire McCaskill and Jim Talent:

Talent was still waiting for returns from Joplin, one of his strongholds, but McCaskill said "once enough had come in from the rest of St. Louis County we knew he couldn't overcome it with Joplin."

She said Talent called her to concede just before she went out to give her victory speech. "He congratulated me on the race we had run and wished me good luck."

Asked why she didn't mention Talent in her victory speech, she said there was no hidden reason: "It was a time to celebrate the victory and the kind of race we ran."

This will be the last time McCaskill says the word "Joplin" until 2011.

This is a sad day for all Missourians. I can't believe we voted in a woman who is pro-abortion!!! Anyone who voted for her should be ashamed!!!!

Anyone who doesn't offer a 12 year old rape victim the option of ending the pregnancy also should be ashamed.

    Claire McCaskill is not "pro-abortion."

Jim Talent is yesterday's news. We've had enough of his kowtowing to special interests.

The people have spoken: So get over it.

"Liberal idiots?" Look, pal, the PEOPLE of the state of Missouri decided these elections.

It just might be that the shoe is on the other foot. You're more than free to express your opinions as a conservative.

But remember, over 50% of the people have repudiated the mess that Bush has created in Iraq. They have tossed out Talent, who voted with Bush 96% (or more) of the time.

The PEOPLE of Missouri have raised the minimum wage and given the go ahead to scientific testing that could help cure Parkinson's Disease, ALS, maybe even cancer.

The PEOPLE of Missouri have done what the conservative "lawmakers" chose not to do. You know who I mean--those guys:

    * Who kissed the feet of Big Oil,
    * Who sought to create a permanent underclass of $5.15 an hour workers,
    * Who have done NOTHING--zip, zero except fund a few miles of a wall to deal with illegal immigration (because their corporate buddies like paying people $3 an hour with no benefits).
    * Who have given us a no-win policy in Iraq

The PEOPLE decided this election. Government of the people, by the people and for the people have made the decision.

So Rush Limbaugh can go mock Michael J. Fox elsewhere.

Hell we can sit here and argue this one all day if you want to talk about do-nothing parties. I can give you a long list of liberal screw-ups too if you just want to play games. My point is that liberals have such a double standard. If someone speaks out against their opinion they are being 'silenced" by the big GOP machine. It is not that simple.

I wonder if many republicans are regretting the election of Matt Blunt today. The Blunt dynasty is looking a lot less shiny today.

Ah. the little Bushie didn"t get his way and now he needs his potty mouth washed out with soap. The time for fear is over and the time for courage has begun. Democrats will not treat the Republicans like the Republicans treated the Democrats in the congress. The adults are now in charge.

First of all if you let and yes I say L E T your 12 year old on the streets and she gets raped then that is all your fault. And second of all Missourians should not be proud that they passed Amendment 2. If you have read the and research the Amendment then you would know what a tragedy it is that is was passed. Our Daughters and Grand Daughters are not safe now. And they have never reported and scientific evidence that says that embryo research will find a cure for anything. But adult stem cell has. They are murdering babies and that is all it comes down too. And yes McCaskil is for Abortion. Duh read up on her stupid.

Sleep well sir. You will never, and I mean never, need to worry about having stem cell research conducted on you or your immeadiate family.

Do you often hear laughter when you leave a room?

I haven't hear so many gripes from our Republican brothern since John Ashcroft got beaten at the polls by a dead guy. We have spent six years listening to a line of Republican crud that just wouldn't quit so now it is time for you guys to just shut up and take it. Or maybe there could be a way to use the Patriot Act against your ilk. Imagine the beauty of all those "reeducation camps" that KBR built across the country under government no bid contract.

Nobody "lets" their 12-year-old get raped, buddy.

On both sides, I have never seen more errors in grammar, spelling and general command of what some would make the nation's official language.

All told, not southwest Missouri's most shining moment. We look like a bunch of hicks.
