Blogger offers thoughts on No Child Left Behind

The Thinking Things blog post today offers a personal look at the negative effects of the federal No Child Left Behind act.

After a story about a friend's child whose gifted program has entered the "All MAP, All the Time" mold, the blogger, a Springfield mental health clinician, notes:

School is about learning--tests, homework, competition, heavy book bags, and bad lunches are part of this, but when months are dedicated to preparing students to take one big test, pretty much to the exclusion of everything else, all kids are left behind.
