Tuesday's Kansas City Star featured an article examining Missouri Governor Matt Blunt's lack of popularity.
In a column that makes Stephen King read like Beatrix Potter, today's St. Louis Post-Dispatch takes off in an entirely different direction as Bill McClellan outlines the path the governor could take to the presidency in 2012 when Blunt would still be only 42 years old.
At first, I just laughed and then I remembered Jimmy Carter.
I laughed about George W, too. Now I cry.
ReplyDeleteAnyone who doesn't believe that Matt Blunt will be a national political figure is kidding themselves.
ReplyDeleteThe alarming prospect of inflicting Boy Blunt upon the nation -- dangling from the strings of the next Karl Rove -- should light a blaze under Democrats. Blunt must not be allowed to reign in Jefferson City after 2008! Defeating his re-election bid is the only way to derail his drive to Washington. The country, and world, cannot withstand another inept puppet in the White House!
ReplyDeleteGeorge W., cherry picked with everything in place, had the "personality" the American people wanted (shudder!) Not even Karl Rove, Jr. could make Matt Blunt into something presidential.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the old man needs to buy him some cowboy boots and a baseball team.
By the way, that St Louis columnist said a little bit of nothing.
