On a couple of occasions I have noted the Omaha TV News blog, which has taken numerous potshots at former KODE anchor Jimmy Siedlecki and a few at Siedlecki's WOWT morning show co-host and former KODE co-anchor Malorie Maddox.
The anonymous blogger made what he says is his farewell post Thursday, but he didn't go without ripping into Siedlecki and Ms. Maddox one more time and making fun of Joplin.
About Siedlecki, he said:
Jimmy Siedlecki: Dude, you were so in the right place when you and the missus were in Joplin, Missouri. They thought you were great. Here, however, you look like a total rube. You know—a hick, a hayseed, a bumpkin. No one here thinks you're smooth, clever, worldly, or sophisticated. Go back to where people appreciate an anchor with more than five teeth.
About Ms. Maddox, he wrote:
Malorie Maddox: get some dialect coaching, so that you stop referring to "President Besh" and saying "inny" when you mean to say "any." You should also get help to stop talking through your nose and do something with that hair.

While I firmly believe the criticism of media outlets is something that should be done, I have always been bothered by criticisms of how people look or talk- and, of course, it is far easier to take these kinds of cheap shots when you hide behind the mask of anonymity.
