If you remember, a couple of weeks ago I was writing about the bill sponsored by Rep. Ron Richard, R-Joplin, a bowling alley operator, which would have excluded sales tax on bowling equipment and supplies.
After the light of publicity was shined on this legislation, the only bill I can find that Richard has proposed this year, it was quickly withdrawn.
Apparently, Richard is not the only one whose only legislation was designed to help his own business. HB 310, proposed by 62nd District Rep. Dennis Wood, R-Kimberling City, would make it a crime to sell real estate without a license and impose a penalty of up to $2,500 a day, with each day the activity takes place being considered a separate offense.
Wood, as you might guess, is a real estate agent.
This is the only legislation Wood has proposed this year.
One of the bill's co-sponsors is Rep. Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin.

By Gawd Ole Dennis has fathered a bill!
At least he has done something. He may not get his marching orders this term from the Tourism Industry, the powers that be DID NOT support Ole Dennis in the primary, but the people did. Doesn't matter in this area, as long as they are on the Repug ticket they are a shoo-in. Voters don't think here, they just vote Repug.
