Joplin Tri-State Business continues to pile up one scoop after another in its blanket coverage of the Joplin business community.
An article written by Editor Jeff Wells and reporter Chris Roberts, and posted on the website of Tri-State Business owner Springfield Business Journal, revealed the firing of Mid-Missouri Bank President and CEO Scott Rosenthal (pictured) and loan officer Kayla Muskrat "for cause:"
"The only thing I can tell you is that they’ll be suspended until the completion of the investigation," (P. Lee Gilbert, Mid-Missouri Bank chairman) Gilbert said. "The investigation will be centered around four different divisions: the Missouri Division of Finance, the (Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.), the (Federal Bureau of Investigation) and the bonding company."
Rosenthal is a former employee of Southwest Missouri Bank and past president of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. Joplin Tri-State Business left two messages today at the number listed for Rosenthal’s Carthage home. JTB also left a telephone message at Muskrat’s home. Neither call was immediately returned.
Gilbert said operations at the bank will continue as normal and no customer accounts are in question or under investigation at this time.
Sounds like a couple folks can plan on spending some days in a federal lockup.
ReplyDeleteSounds like they need to dig a little deeper. Employees (VP's) Chris Couch and Frank McReynolds were also suspended.
ReplyDeleteCheck the link to the Springfield Business Journal. The suspensions of Couch and McReynolds are mentioned in the article.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone going to put two and two together and figure out that all 4 suspended are former SMB employees. And are being investigated after the indictment of the Ellefsen brothers who diverted money through SMB back when all were employed there. It's funny how they all went from SMB to Mid-Missouri at the same time and thought they could run away from what they have done. Obviously their names were mentioned by Ellefsen as his contacts through SMB and that is why they were escorted by FBI from Mid-Missouri Bank. I think they should all get locked up for good. I know a couple of them and can tell you that they act like their 'poop' don't stink. I got news for them, it does now and ha ha ha.
ReplyDeleteWow David, you are a jerk.
ReplyDeleteAll those people are very nice. Let's hope their names a cleared soon. And you can feel free to eat your words then.
...and David, you are really jumping to conclusions connecting those two situations. I haven't seen anything else connecting them other than your conjecture.
ReplyDeleteBack it up.
I was going to say something similar.
ReplyDeleteI realize Randy that you believe that the "Joplin Tri=State Business scooped the Globe on bank firings."....but maybe the Globe is just trying to get all of the facts together before jumping to conclusions.
If you read Tri-State Business' story, it simply reports facts, the same facts that were available to the Globe. It would seem more likely that the Globe did not know anything about it.
ReplyDeleteAfter all the Globe never runs a story without all the facts. Ha! If I read the line about see tomorrow's paper one more time. Want another example? A recent headline: Unofficial buzz is about T.J. Maxx. There was nothing unofficial about it. There name was on the building permit before the paper ran the story. Laziness.
ReplyDeleteLaziness is writing there instead of their.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't anyone give crap about literacy anymore?
Lightning photo ... Is that you Hacker?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure all those who are obsessed with Hacker will come out of the woodwork and verify this.
I think you both are right. Randy is right in suggesting the Globe should have had what the Springfield Business Journal had. That's all facts.
ReplyDeleteBut some of these posts are clearly just conjecture and way out of bounds until we know more. I have no problem with Randy saying what's out there. I just don't like others going crazy places with what they know nothing about.
Why does everything have to be about Hacker?
ReplyDeleteI know the VP terminated, and have talked to her today. Everyone wants blood from the higher ups when something is in the news. People should look at the person who says money was taken from her account, first name Lisa with a home building busness, word is has been going under because of her spending practices, horses, betting on these horses etc. Kala did not take money, but may have extended this persons credit limit, maybe at the direction of her superior. The IRS should look into the busness of homebuilding see what they find.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this is down right
ReplyDeletehilareous knowing some of the
background of Mid-Missouri. Scott
is a major butt and I'll be filming
it when they escort him out in
handcuffs. I can't wait! :) he he
I also believe that Gilber had
something to do with this but is
hiding behind his attorney's
advise. He would look cute in
handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit
as well.
Sounds as though they were trying to grow too fast - too soon.
ReplyDeleteKAYLA IS A GOOD PERSON AND I AM SURE IT WILL BE PROVEN THAT SHE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.
ReplyDeleteMAC
I did work with all of these mentioned at SMB and Kayla is the best of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteWho is Ellefsen?
ReplyDeleteThey need to check Lisa Budd out. She's not as clean as they think.
ReplyDeleteThat's no lie if they checked out how she alters paper work and slips things under the table she would be had. They just don't know her yet.She does people wrong, all the time says one thing then she don't hold up to what she says shes going to do.
ReplyDeleteShe builds the worst houses that any builder could build. I've seen better doghouses at "Big Lots". She stinks and I don't like her.
ReplyDeleteTerrible that a system will constantly allow someone to be hurtful and honestly say things about past employees even if no longer there. Whom has control the devil or God.. I have no control, but honestly very uncomfortable that anyone would continue to allow him control!!
