Former Joplin Globe photographer Noppadol Paothong, now working for Missouri Conservationist, may be about to take his work to a much bigger venue, according to an item in the May edition of Missouri Press News:
The work of photographer Noppadol Paothong was on display through April at the Springfield Nature Center. Paothong, a native of Thailand and former employee of The Joplin Globe and the Springfield News-Leader, is the photojournalist for the Missouri Department of Conservation. Paothong has sent a portfolio to National
Geographic, which has expressed an interest in working with him.

Great kid with good photos, though the work of Rathert and others is still a bit better at this point, based on my years of receiving the magazine and comparing the photos. I'd say to give him time and it may catch up.
