Authorities began removing the bodies from the church about 7 p.m.
The injured were taken by ambulance or air evacuation to St. John's and Freeman hospitals in Joplin, Desiree Bridges said.
McCracken estimated about four or five wounded people were taken, but several others who were injured fled the scene.
Officers interviewed witnesses and family members outside the church and at the police station.
The congregation is made up of people that locals call "the islanders," who live and work in Neosho.
Micronesia is in the Pacific Ocean north of Australia and includes the Marshall Islands and Guam, among other islands.

News-Leader- As many as 10 injured in fatal shooting incident
More information should be forthcoming when a news conference is held 10:30 a.m. today at the Neosho Recreation Center, but the Springfield News-Leader reports at least 10 people were injured when a gunman entered the First Congregational Church and killed three people Sunday:
