Rachel Keller Brown removes name from lobbyist list

Rachel Keller Brown, who along with her husband Travis Brown and former House Speaker Pro Tem Carl Bearden recently formed Pelopidas, LLC, to advocate for issues such as school vouchers, is no longer a registered lobbyist in the state of Missouri, as of Thursday, according to Missouri Ethics Commission documents.
Mrs. Brown had represented one client, Advocates for School Choice, based in Phoenix, Ariz.
Advocates for School Choice will still have lobbyists working on its behalf. Ethics Commission documents show Mark Dawes, Austin, Texas, is registered as a lobbyist for the organization. Dawes lobbies for only one other client in Missouri, Connections Academy, the company which was recently awarded the contract to provide elementary curriculum for the state's virtual school.
Mrs. Brown apparently will devote more time to Pelopidas, an organization which appears to be advocating for the same type of issues favored by retired billionaire Rex Sinquefield. Travis Brown and Carl Bearden are registered lobbyists for Sinquefield, with Brown registering Pelopidas and Sinquefield as his clients on July 12.
